Pakistani exchange student Sabika:victim of Texas shooting

On Friday May 18,a catastrophe occurred in Santa Fe,Texas when a school shooting occurred leaving 10 dead and 8 severely injured.

The shooter was a student in the high school and came armed with a shotgun and revolver hidden under his jacket with which he open fired in the school causing the death of 10 children,many his fellow school mates.

One of the students of Santa Be High school was Sabika shiekh a Pakistani resident who was gone there for a foreign exchange program.She was aI’m set to return on the 9th of June and was excited about reuniting with her family.

According to her father Abdul Aziz,about the shooting he said “i called the foreign exchange programmes coordinator there,i spoke to the, and they told me three hours later(about five hours post the shooting) they confirmed she was dead.”

 

Abdul aziz was extremely reminiscent about his daughter “At such a young age she would say such huge things ,that sometimes I couldn’t believe it,even now i coukd not believe it.”he went on to say “She was extraordinary, genius and talented ”

YES is the  foreign exchange program Sabika was part of.

Megan Lysaght,Manager of YES confirmed to the students part of the program, that Sabika was shot “It is with great sadness in my heart that I need to inform you that one of our YES students,Sabika shiekh from Pakistan,was killed today in the School shooting at Santa Fe,Texas.”
