Rather than scavenging the stores for some cute home décor, why not make it yourself? This serving day is bright, fun, colorful and something you should totally make to add some spunk into your home.
Supplies You’ll Need:
- Unpainted serving tray (preferably off wood cause it looks the best)
- Paper towels
- Acrylic Paint (pink, blue, green, yellow, turquoise and purple)
- UV resistant spray (or any other clear spray that seals in the paint)
- Paper towels
- White spray paint
- A few pain brushes (square-tipped)
- Cup of water

What to Do?
- Spray the sides and top of the tray with white spray paint and allow it to dry. You can totally use a simple wooden tray if you can’t find a textured one.
- Very carefully, pain the inside of the tray with different colors. You can make hexagons or squares. If you’re not too good at painting, then you can use some stencils. Switch colors until the entire tray is covered.
- Paint the top parts of the tray in 4 different colors.
- Allow the paint to dry and finish off this DIY with UV protectant.
And it’s done! How easy was that? You’re just painting a simple wooden tray and making it colorful. Now add some other nick-nacks to the tray and display it anywhere in the house.
