A nostalgic trip down cartoons-lane

90’s children had a rather peculiar way of life. Our weekends were made of waking up before the rest of the household to catch the early morning episodes and wrestling the remote control of our now silent televisions from dad’s hands as soon as 6 pm struck.

This practice may not be followed anymore but the charm of those times lives on, forever in our hearts. Time for a throwback of the most beloved cartoons aired in the history of time? I think so…

  • Looney Tunes: Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Co. have had an enduring appeal that made their slapstick comedy one to be adored for decades. Countless TV incarnations and an extensive cast of beloved characters — Tweety and Sylvester, Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote have ensured that it’ll be a long time before Looney fans will be saying, “That’s all, folks!”

  • Dexter’s lab: This miniature scientist wasn’t just ADORABLE but also had the brains backing him up. With a sister like Dee Dee continuously wreaking havoc on his life, who couldn’t relate to this tiny mastermind?

  • Scooby Doo: Zoinks! Who would’ve guessed that an animated comedy about a crew of paranormal investigators and a constantly hungry canine would manage to hold such a place in our hearts?

  • Jetsons: High-tech gadgets, spaceships, and robotic maids. This family gave way for our dreams of a magnificent future.

  • Powerpuff girls: Back when female heroes were practically unheard of, this all-girls trio flew out of their bedrooms to save the world (or at least Townsville) in a way that left lasting impressions of young girls everywhere.

  • Flintstones: This show gave us the first look at what a prehistoric world probably looked like. With a pet dinosaur and a stone-car that ran on leg power, the Flintstones truly lived remarkable lives, providing several generations with a yabba dabba do time.

  • Courage the Cowardly Dog: This little pupper showed us what true love and loyalty was, forever saving Muriel from the evil forces that hit the town of Nowhere, Kansas. This is the very show that initiated my fearful love of horror movies.
