Afghanistan Allegedly Fires Rockets into Pakistan

2 mortar shells were fired in to Pakistan from Afghanistan apparently, where no human casualty took place, but few vehicles were destroyed

Pakistan and Afghanistan have this friend-foe relationship, that keeps changing. Due to Pakistan’s involvement in Afghanistan always, not many are quite happy with it. Where there are skirmishes on a greater level on India-Pakistan border, a few are also take place on Afghanistan-Pakistan border. And that is what happened today, apparently.

2 mortar shells were fired into Pakistan from Afghanistan, confirmed Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui. Although there has been no loss to human lives, but a few vehicles have been affected from the attack.

And in result to this, the Torkham border has been closed down between the two countries. Although, Aisha indicated that after talks with Afghanistan Government the gates might open again soon.

However, when Afghanistan has denied any attack from their country on to Pakistan. They further said, it was a way to close down the Torkham border, as done prior to this attack. “In the past, Pakistan has played the same game whenever they want to close the Torkham crossing,” Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar province, told Reuters.

When Imran Khan took over the government, he had opened up the border to bring in flow to the trade. Which, well, was the need of time, apparently.

There have been several attacks from Afghanistan on to Pakistan, but each time, Pakistan does let go of it. Usually after coming in conversation with the government. However, this should not be the case every time.

Lets see, what happens next in relations between both of the countries.
