Singer Ali Zafar has released a tribute to Muhammad Ali Sadpara, a Pakistani mountaineer who has been missing since his climb to the K2 on February 9.

The song tribute is called ‘Paharon Ki Qasam’ which was originally sung by Kamal Masood. Ali Zafar’s version of the song, likewise, also features the traditional instruments used in the original version. the song has been produced by his production house Lightingale Records.
The tribute comes with a heartfelt music video. The video features a compilation of shots of Sadpara and aesthetic shots of the K2 mountains. “We haven’t gotten word of your arrival. Your memory won’t leave our hearts,” sings Ali Zafar. These lyrics are especially heartfelt as the nation yearns for Sadpara’s return whilst struggling to accept the reality.
The music video also features a quote by former US first lady Eleanor Roosevelt — “The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste, experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for a newer and richer experience.”
Sadpara is a celebrated Pakistani mountaineer who went missing on an expedition on K2. He and two other climbers with him, Juan Pablo Mohr and John Snorri Sigurjonsson were last spotted on February 5 near the bottleneck area of the K2 mountains. Poor weather has hindered the search for the mountaineers.
As days continue to pass by, and the weather conditions continue to remain a challenge, the nation is trying its best not to lose hope and are counting on a miracle to bring Sadpara back home. However, some people are slowly accepting the saddening reality that he may never return.
