An Attempt to Preserve Wildlife in Pakistan.

Pakistan has constantly been home to injustice against wild animals. The Sindh Government has now introduced new laws to preserve wildlife in Pakistan.

You may have noticed people in Pakistan posting pictures with exotic animals online, taking their lions on a ride in their cars, or even keeping giraffes as pets! There is a dire need to preserve wildlife in Pakistan, with the rapid increase in this absurd fascination of domesticating wild animals.

In recent news, the Governor of Sindh has just passed and signed a brand-new wildlife protection legislation act. This act claims that anyone who is found uploading photos of hunted exotic animals is liable to imprisonment for 6 months.

We’ve seen countless times how several people go on hunting trips, hunt down rare species without caring about how it may affect the wildlife of the country and the population of the species itself. They then go on to their social media handles, to show off their magnificent kill as if there was an award for it.

It is extremely outrageous to do such a thing; we are supposed to preserve the wildlife in Pakistan instead of endangering it further. These creatures are made to be admired not brutally hunted.

Furthermore, the legislative act states that anyone who is found with illegal possession of any exotic animals will also be liable to jail time. To own a wild animal, you must obtain a legitimate official permit. Similarly, anyone found engaging in illegal trade through migration borders or selling of such animals or exotic birds will also be given the same punishment.

This will be done by the FIA strictly monitoring all social media activities to get hold of any photos or posts that violate the new rules, The Sindh Wildlife Department also claims to work closely with cybercrimes to make sure they’re on top of any or all complaints.

Javed Ahmed, Wildlife Conservator, stated that they have now increased protection for all wildlife animals in Pakistan. He says that in an attempt to preserve wildlife in Pakistan; every animal from a crow to a turtle is now protected. Anyone found in violations of the new laws will be eligible to an FIR against them.
