Arrest Warrant Against Shahid Khaqan Released
Islamabad High Court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
When it comes to Pakistan’s political credibility, only a handful of honest Politicians may be found. And those handful too, are involved in something or other. Same has been the case with Pakistan’s 21st Prime Minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. Prior to becoming the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahid Khaqan was serving his tenure as Petroleum Minister of Pakistan. What ought to have been an honest tenure, brought out many allegation on him. Along with that, being associated to PML-N, it has already been a really hard time on that political party lately.
As for now, there has been arrest warrant issues against him. The case is of illegal hiring in petroleum when he was chairing the petroleum industry. According to National Accountancy Bureau, he illegally hired the Managing and Asst. Managing Director of PSO. When the arguments were kept in court, the court rued against the former Prime Minister and issued warrants immediately. Moreover, whose who were hired on Shahid Khaqan’s call, have been called for hearing on 10th April 2020.
Sadly, this is not the first time any Politician was being summoned to the court. And this is also not the first time Shahid Khaqan has been issued arrest warrants. But this time, it seems as if the former PM has no way out.
It is sad to see how Politics have turned to be in Pakistan. Those who should be most loyal to their people, betray them the most. But well, as they say, the sooner the better. The sooner all corrupt officials end behind bars, the better it would be for this emerging country.
