Mike Tyson and Roy Jones are set to battle it out on 28th November in Los Angeles, as the main card fight in the Pay per View event at STAPLES Center. Moreover, WBC has announced that the fight will consist of eight rounds each of which will last 2 minutes, with gloves being that is larger than usual and, no headgear is involved.

They have also come up with an exclusive belt made specifically for Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. only. “The WBC has prepared a unique belt to commemorate this occasion. Each fighter will receive one, as a recognition of their innovative efforts to bring entertainment to the world with a great cause, during these very difficult and harsh times for humanity.

The creation of this belt for Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. did not sit well with some of the players; in an interview with Showtime, Floyd Mayweather stated that “so many belts is not good for the sport, adding: ‘Now when a fighter fights, every fighter is a champion.’”

However, in a recent press conference, both Tyson and Jones seemed to disagree. Roy Jones, who has been looking forward to facing Mike Tyson in the octagon said, “First, I don’t give a damn what nobody says,’ Jones, 51, said in response to Mayweather. ‘Don’t got anything to do with me. I do what I do, my business is my business. I don’t care what nobody else says. This ain’t got nothing to do with him.

So, he stays over there in his lane and does what he does, let me do what I do. So, you think right now you want to see me perform, you put a belt on the line. I’m sorry, but it’s like drugs. I just can’t say no. You offer me a title, you got me. It doesn’t mean nothing to people like him maybe, but it meant the world to me.” Said Roy Jones.

His opponent, Mike Tyson, who hasn’t been in the octagon for over 15 years could not agree more. Tyson has been training day and night for this fight and is eager to make a comeback. His coach, Cordeiro, has expressed high hopes for him and has also vouched for his incredible shape currently.

Cordeiro further hinted that if the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. fight goes well for Tyson, fans might be seeing him in a couple more matches!
