Ben Affleck is Coming Back as Batman on HBO Max
It's been reported that Ben Affleck has signed a contract with HBO Max to come back as Batman. Affleck signed after the Snyder Cut was announced for 2021.
It’s been reported that Ben Affleck has signed a contract with HBO Max to come back as Batman. His first appearance as the Dark Knight was in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Affleck had originally joined DCEU as Batman under the vision of Zack Snyder, whose version of Justice League had not been released. However, now that the Zack Snyder’s cut of the Justice League will be released on HBO Max, Ben Affleck has also returned as Batman.
The Cultured Nerd‘s Tyler Murphy stated, “the official announcement is expected to happen either at DC FanDome or during JusticeCon. One of the two, we’re going to get that announcement but it’s going to happen before September. We’re going to get the official announcement and we are going to get the Snyderverse Batman is going to be returning.”
It is being reported that one of the main reasons for Ben Affleck to return is because he is getting a creative control over the role. At the time of Affleck’s departure from the franchise, it was speculated that Geoff Johns had interfered with the actor’s vision for the character.
Hopefully, with both Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck back, Batman will be an interesting watch!
