#Blurfie: Blur Selfie for a cause
A campaign to support and raise awareness for World Multiple Sclerosis Day
Selfies, a term which is not unknown especially to the Gen Z. A new trend has emerged on social media and is spreading like wildfire. This new trend #blurfie is basically a campaign to raise awareness for a disease named Multiple Sclerosis on account of World MS day.
Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological disease which affects the central nervous system, potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord. This trend has reached in Pakistan as well where many celebrities have taken part and posted their blur selfies on social media to support the cause and raise awareness. Many celebrities such as Iman Aly, Iqra Aziz, Minal Khan, Aiman Khan, Imran Ashraf and many more.
Symptoms of this disease can vary but the most common ones are:
- Blurred vision
- Fatigue
- Muscle weakness
- Walking imbalance
- Sensations of tingling and numbness
- Due to this, simple tasks like walking from point A to point B can be a challenge.
Iman Aly posted her blurfie and said that she herself is suffering from MS which has impacted her movement, speech and many more but her sight has been affected the most which is the first symptom.
But I am fighting on, like all the other patients who are living with this disease. MS affects the nerves in the brain, and the most common symptom is blurred vision. When there is a relapse, the blurred vision is also accompanied by dizziness.
You can also support the cause by posting a blur selfie and using the hashtags #Blurfie #LetsBeatMS
