China being accused of harvesting organs

China is said to be harvesting human organs from the Uighur Muslim and Falun Gong communities

This week Tuesday, at a United Nations Human Rights Council meeting, the Chinese government was accused of harvesting human organs from persecuted religious communities.

The China Tribunal, an independent group investigating the situation have claimed that human organ harvesting is very much still happening, especially to the Uighur Muslim and Falun Gong communities.

This comes despite the Chinese government having denied these allegations, claiming that they stopped harvesting organs from executed prisoners, back in 2015.

A representative of the Tribunal, Hamid Sabi said that there was apparent proof and that the Chinese government was harvesting hearts, kidneys, lungs, and even skin. And that the detainees were subject to frequent testing and killed to order.

Sabi urged the Council to open up an official investigation into this matter as China is committing ‘crimes against humanity’.

He also is reported to have said:

“Forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience, including the religious minorities of Falun Gong and Uighurs, has been committed for years throughout China on a significant scale,”

The Chinese organ transplant industry is said to be earning a whooping $1 billion annually, according to the Tribunal.
