COVID-19 and Education in Pakistan

COVID-19 first infected Pakistan in the start of March 2020. As it was the start of any educational year, the education in Pakistan has been effected badly.

Education is a road to success for any particular nation. The more educated people are, the more bright future that country holds. Educational institutions were closed down in Pakistan as soon as the country got infected with COVID-19. With changing policies in the educational department, the government came to a reasonable solution. To host online classes, in times of distress. And many universities started doing so, initially. Different universities had different classes, at times classes clashing with one another.

But that not only degraded the education standard, but also wasn’t helpful for many. People, who lived in remote areas, faced major difficulties. They didn’t have proper internet connections, and they usually weren’t able to take classes. At times, the electricity ran out and people weren’t able to take their classes completely. There were also times when teachers started burdening students with assignments, quizzes, and other things. Students weren’t only tensed about their lectures, but were also under great stress due to the over-burdening classwork.

This is one in its self case. No one can really b blamed or pointed fingers to, here. The universities tried their best to deliver online classes, in the best way possible. However, few students had issues for some reason or another. And the Education Sector had to close the educational institutions as not to spread COVID-19 amongst students.

However, now the semester for university students has almost ended. And now it might be quite a peaceful time for all the students. All we hope is that everything gets back to normal as soon as possible. And this COVID-19 ends in Pakistan, so education can gain the pace back.
