Dengue Outbreak Might Happen in Pindi

Dengue virus outbreak may occur in Pindi. Many people have been diagnosed with dengue in the past few weeks which is alarming.

There might be a risk of dengue outbreak to occur in Rawalpindi despite the heavy fumigation done by authorities. There was surveillance and fumigation done by district authorities. Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease. It is easily spread because these mosquitoes are formed even in clean water. These mosquitoes can also spread other viruses such as chikunguniya, zika and many others. Hence, it’s a very dangerous one.

People have been suffering from this virus for the last three weeks. Many new cases of dengue have been reported by hospitals. Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has imposed a dengue emergency in Pindi. She has advised the doctors to work even for more hours per day if required during this emergency.

They’ve been working on an anti-dengue campaign to collectively eradicate this disease. It can be controlled through the combined efforts of everyone. The anti-dengue campaign discussion included facts and figures. It will be carried out in Rawalpindi and may be spread in other cities of the country too, if needed.

According to an official handout, Punjab Health Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, DC Mohammad Ali Randhawa and other officers of health department were present in the meeting.

In conclusion, tips on how to prevent the spread of dengue should be given. On the other hand, special attention needs to be given to these warning signs as it could lead to severe dengue:
  • Severe abdominal pain.
  • Persistent vomiting.
  • Bleeding gums.
  • Vomiting blood.
  • Rapid breathing.
  • Fatigue/ restlessness.
