Fashion in the Air- Nomi Ansari is AirSial’s Official Designer
The mastermind behind PIA's cabin crew's latest uniforms, Nomi Ansari has now been announced as the official designer for upcoming domestic airline, AirSial
Having previously designed the new uniforms for PIA’s cabin crew, Nomi Ansari is now collaborating with Pakistan’s new airline, AirSial. The airline is scheduled to inaugurate their services later this month and it seems as though they’ll be flying in style.
The announcement was made on by AirSial on their social media which was later shared by the Nomi Ansari who also gave us glimpses of his mastery.
The caption wrote: “We proudly announce the official designer for our crew uniforms – Nomi Ansari.”
In a conversation, Nomi Ansari revealed that the designs had been finalised earlier in April however, changes were made since the AirSial’s flight operations inauguration got delayed due to the pandemic.
“I had been working on this project for a year now and the uniforms actually got done earlier this year, in April. But then, the airlines’ launch got delayed due to Covid. I made different variations and they shortlisted the design that they preferred. I wanted to give the uniforms a tailored look and select a colour that was neutral and went with all skin tones.”
“For the women, I have created a short shirt with three-quarter sleeves, paired with a jacket, cap and scarf. There are different prints for the scarves depending on what crew the staff member belongs to.
The scarf will be worn around the neck and if a woman wants to cover her head, there is a different pattern for her, with a cowl around the neck.”
The men’s uniform is along the same lines but Nomi Ansari said that it is currently going through some final touch-ups.
This will be Nomi Ansari’s second aviation-related project. After his success with PIA’s designing, he is now setting the bar high with his current collaboration with AirSial.
