Hafiz Saeed Booked in Terror Finance Case

Hafiz Saeed has been funding terrorism all across. He became quite popular after the Mumbai attacks in 2008. Hafiz Saeed is said to be the master mind behind the attack. Moreover, Hafiz Saeed is the founder of an armed group by the name of Lashkar e Taiba (LeT). Although he states he has no link to it after 2001, no one believes his statement as such. Apart from being a founder of LeT, he is also the leader of a political party by the name of Jamat ud Daawa (JuD). It is said that JuD has links to different terrorist organizations. They are financed by the money received in trusts like Al-Anfaal Trust, Dawatul Irshad Trust, Muaz Bin Jabal Trust, etc.

Hafiz Saeed was arrested in July ’19. CTD had found links between him and terrorist organizations. “The cases against him are all related to fundraising,” Awan said. “He is charged with terrorism financing.” He was further sent to jail over this and was kept in judicial remand. Now, on Wednesday, he and others involved were indicted by the court. They were to be summoned on Saturday. However, due to unavailability of a suspect, things had to be postponed.

There are many political as well as religious parties in Pakistan with links to terrorists. However, many of them roam around free even today. Surely, With increasing sectarianism and difference of mindset, many have been killed already. It is high time CTD takes action against all the other organizations too. The sooner the better. At the end of the day, we all want Pakistan to be a peaceful country, no? We hope, CTD looks in to the matter soon.
