Hat-trick! Pakistan Army Wins UK International Military Drill Competition

For a third consecutive year, the Pakistan Army won an international military drill competition in the United Kingdom at Sandhurst.

Pakistan Army’s media wing confirmed that for a third consecutive year, the army has bagged the international military drill competition in the United Kingdom. The Pace Sticking contest was held at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar confirmed that the Pakistan Army was represented by Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in the competition.

This year nine teams took part in the competition. The Pakistan High Commission London issued a statement as well, Moazzam Ahmad Khan, commended Pakistan’s dedication and spirit to take on the challenge. He added that the team demonstrated high levels of professionalism and excellence.

Sandhurst commandant, Maj Gen Dunzan Capps also congratulated the Pakistan Army for their “superb synchronisation” and for taking the trophy home for the third consecutive year.

In June 2019, Pakistan Army won the same competition held at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, UK.

In October 2018, an 11-member Pakistan Army team won a gold medal in Cambrian Patrol competition held in Wales.

Pace Sticking Competition is being held in the UK since 1928 with its history linked to the Royal Regiment of Artillery.
