Iran-Pakistan to Mutually Augment Border Security
Pakistan and Iran are mutually working to make security conditions better on the borders of Pakistan & Iran.
Pakistan, which is bordered with Iran, is in a constant threat usually due to smuggling from Iran. And this smuggling isn’t new. It has been going on for long now and has benefitted many from it. Nevertheless, recently, Pakistan Army’s six Personnels lost their lives after an IED collided with their car. The blast took the life of one of the officers too. After the blast, Pakistan’s COAS General Qamar Jawed Bajwa held a telephonic conversation with Iran’s Cheif of Armed Forces, Maj Gen Mohammad Hossein Bagheri.
In the telephonic conversation, they discussed about security. And these two armies discussed how they can mutually make the situation better. They immediately want to upgrade the security measures on both sides of the border. Firstly, in order to stop smuggling from Iran & then to stop the terrorism near to the border.
Moreover, over this, ISPR Press Release told what COAS General Qamar Jawed Bajwa had to say. “Pakistan has started fencing the border but mutual cooperation is required to ensure border security and stem smuggling activity “which is also used by terrorists and narcotics traffickers for covering their movement. he COAS reiterated Pakistan’s desire for regional peace and stability on the basis of mutual respect, non-interference, and equality,”
Iran has been aiding Pakistan since the very first day. And yet we have never maintained a consistent foreign policy with Iran. It has always stumbled with the changing governments of Pakistan. Nevertheless, the current government seems to have made a good relationship with the neighboring country. If it continues to go the same way, not only we will fight off COVID-19, but everything that comes across them.
