Khalil ur Rehman, Humayun Saeed Working on Script Like Ertugrul
Khalil ur Rehman revealed in an interview with a local TV channel that he's working on a script similar to Ertugrul and has also talked to Humayun Saeed.
Khalil ur Rehman has currently sort of disappeared from social media. By disappear, I mean that he’s not been under the spotlight recently. He has been criticized for his stance on feminism in the past few months. His thinking can be seen in his dramas as well such as Meray Pass Tum Ho. It was the most popular drama in Pakistan’s TV history but also the most-watched at the same time. However, in an interview, Khalil ur Rehman and Humayun Saeed are working on a drama similar to Ertugrul.
Ertugrul is a Turkish drama serial that has gained popularity recently in Pakistan. Upon the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan, PTV dubbed the drama in Urdu and aired it. It started on 1st Ramadan and will continue till the end. We’re not sure if they’ll continue airing it even after Ramadan as few celebrities have criticized it.
In an interview with a local TV channel, Khalil ur Rehman was asked about his thoughts over Ertugrul. He was also questioned if he will be working on something similar to Ertugrul. To the host’s question, Khalil ur Rehman replied:
“Of course, we are definitely thinking to make something like this. Three days ago, I have spoken to Humayun Saeed about this and we have decided to make something.”
The Meray Pass Tum Ho writer also added that:
“I have been asking him to work on something like this for the last twelve years but the problem is we have limitations. We do not have enough facilities, otherwise, we have brilliant actors.”
