Madonna Calls Covid-19 “The Great Equalizer”

Madonna, the 61-year-old singer, calls the coronavirus as "the great equalizer" while in a bathtub filled with rose petals upon which the internet is in rage.

Madonna sits in a bathtub surrounded by rose petals as she lectures us all about coronavirus. The 61-year-old singer had got two days of her tour cancelled due to the pandemic. Ever since the cancellation, she’s practicing social distancing by staying home and posting stuff online. Her social media is filled with such posts and videos. In one of her recent videos, she talks about covid-19 and sparks controversy, again.

Madonna says in her video:

“It doesn’t care about how rich you are, how famous you are, how funny you are, how smart you are, where you live, how old you are, what amazing stories you can tell. It’s the great equalizer, and what’s terrible about it is what’s great about it,”

Here’s the full video so you guys can have a look at it:

Well, the internet has mixed feelings about what she said. Most of the people did not like what she said and claimed that it reeked of privilege. On the other hand, some have been on her side saying that this disease does not discriminate. Hence, making us all ponder over why we feel pride in being rich or famous when we’re all the same if compared to the bone.

The internet will always have things to say and they won’t always be good. Madonna has deleted her video from Instagram due to the severe backlash. One user commented:

“Wrong!! Sorry Madonna but the wealthy like yourself can get tested even with no symptoms but all us regular Joe’s get turned away,”

You can construct an opinion of your own. Take it however you may like, to each their own. Maybe she’s right or maybe she’s just too privileged to see beyond her rose petal bathtub.
