Malala Casted Alongside Beyoncé for UN Film

The United Nations is making a film on global issues and has recently released the list of actors that have been casted. these include Beyoncé and Malala.

The United Nations has enlisted a list of celebrities for its upcoming film on global issues.  Among the cast is Pakistani Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai, 24 time Grammy winner, Beyoncé and renowned actor, Don Cheadle.

 

The film is titled: “Nations United: Urgent Solutions for Urgent Times” Its a short film of only 30 minutes and will tackle issues that prevail across the globe such as the COVID-19 pandemic, inequality and poverty. It is scheduled to premiere on United Nation’s YouTube channel on September 19 at 13:00 GMT.

 

On Monday, when the United Nations made the news public, they also said, “The film will take audiences on a dynamic exploration of the times we live in, the multiple tipping points our planet faces, and the interventions that could transform our world over the next 10 years.”

 

The film will address socio-economic issues like gender inequality, injustice, poverty, human rights and climate issues. It will address ways to tackle these global issues as the coronavirus has halted and threatened global progress.

 

The film, Nations United: Urgent Solutions for Urgent Times is directed by Richard Curtis who is an advocate for the United Nations global goal to combat poverty and inequality, perseverance of the environment and improve the living conditions of people all over the world by 2030.

 

The 30 minute film will feature a performance by the legendary, Beyoncé, also known as “Queen Bey” along with a performance by singer, Burna Boy. Furthermore there will be appearances from United Nations Goodwill Ambassadors, also famous actor, Don Cheadle and actress, Michelle Yeoh. Forest Whitaker, the UNESCO special peace envoy will also be featured in the film. Last, but definitely not the least, Pakistani education advocate and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai is amongst the cast.

Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts will host a radio broadcast and podcast version of the show. The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres will also be there alongside Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed.

 

Ever since the UN has announced the release of this film, there has been great excitement globally. The highly anticipated film features massive personalities who have millions of followers who are thrilled for the release. Furthermore, as there is a dire need for creating global awareness the United Nations decision to make a film and incorporate famous celebrities is a commendable tactic. The appearances by superstars like Beyoncé will attract millions of viewers, and will aid in helping the film to achieve what it’s aiming to achieve.
