Mohammad Amir, Haris Sohail Not Going On England Tour

Whilst Amir wishes to stay for the birth of his second child in August, Haris' family is against travelling to England during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), cricketers Mohammad Amir and Haris Sohail have opted out of going for the England tour for personal reasons. Whilst Mohammad Amir wishes to stay for the birth of his second child in August, Haris Sohail’s family is against travelling to England during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, this led to rumors about Haris’ health and possible contraction of COVID-19, which had to be denied by PCB vehemently.

Pakistan will send 28 players and 14 player support personnel for three Tests and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) to be played in August and September. The squad as well as pre-series and series schedule will be announced in due course.

In order to ensure that none of the cricket stakeholders involved in the England tour are infected with COVID-19, the PCB is taking strict actions. One of the decisions they took was to not have any national camp until they reach England.

The team will be leaving at the end of this month most likely, so that they have more time to practice before the matches begin. They will go through mandatory Covid-19 test, upon arrival in England, and will stay in quarantine for a period of two weeks.
