Naseebo Lal Gains Support Amidst PSL Anthem Backlash
Amidst the backlash Naseebo Lal has received for her PSL anthem, actors such as Adnan Siddiqui and Hira Mani have supported the veteran singer for her craft.
Upon the release of the PSL anthem on February 7, there were mixed reactions. While some people loved the song and the collaboration between a cultural powerhouse (Naseebo Lal) and rising stars (Aima Baig and the Young Stunners), however, others did not like it at all which sparked a great degree of backlash online.
A few days after the anthem was released, and amidst all the backlash, a video began circulating on social media of Naseebo Lal crying. In the video, she speaks about never being given a chance to sing an anthem or song like this before and thanked people for their comments despite being dragged online.

The heartfelt video weighed on a lot of Twitter trolls which lead to a number of tweets apologising and sympathising with the veteran singer, Naseebo Lal.
Soon, a number of famous personalities and veteran actors like Faisal Qureshi and Adnan Qureshi jumped to publicly defend and support Naseebo Lal’s craft. The latter called on people to respect artists and their work. “It’s very easy to be keyboard warriors and shred someone’s hard work to pieces. How ungrateful to forget so conveniently all the melodious songs Naseebo Lal has given us,” he wrote.
When will we learn to take things in perspective and react accordingly . Song getting hate ? Lets go with the spirit of sports and celebrate little things . I personally think Naseebo Lal who is very popular with masses will Rock the stadium with her 'groove' and high notes .

Renowned actor Ahmed Ali Butt also came to Lal’s defence and voices his resentment towards the backlash Naseebo Lal received on his Instagram stories. “For people who don’t know, Naseebo Lal is a Pakistan folk singer with over 30 years of singing experience. She never goes the limelight that she deserved because most of her songs were during the “raunchy” Punjabi film era,” he wrote. “But that does not change the fact that she is a Pakistani folk legend with hundreds of songs to her credit.”
He went on to reiterate that ‘Groove Mera’ is a great song and bold step by the PCB. “All the people making fun of her pronunciation are the same people who like the UK or Canadian Punjabi singers. So shut up!”
Others who sent support and love towards Naseebo Lal include singer, Meesha Shafi, cricket legend, Wasim Akram and actor, Farhan Saeed.

Now, the recent celebrity to talk about the veteran singer is Hira Mani.
Posting on her Instagram, Hira Mani wrote: “You’ve sung the song brilliantly, Naseebo Ji. These vocals, this flair! These are the true essence of an artist,” the Meray Paas Tum Ho star penned, adding, “Fun fact: the same voice has been everyone’s favourite since the 80s. The digital era has just begun and thanks to that, we can now listen to Naseebo Lal even better! No other PSL anthem has been praised more than this one. This really is the best yet.”
