No Lockdown, Says PM Imran Khan

PM Imran Khan has ruled out the possibility of another lockdown in the country. As the number of cases surges across the country, the citizens expected to impose a lockdown. Currently, Pakistan is experiencing one of the worst increase in the number of reported cases each day. There are over 95,000 reported cases in Pakistan, more than China from where this virus originated.

PM Imran Khan mentioned that Pakistan cannot afford another lockdown. He requests the Tiger Force to raise awareness regarding COVID-19. He said, “Coronavirus will spread. You can’t stop it from spreading,”. However, many believe that the lockdown should be imposed now more than ever. Imran Khan mentioned that he has observed how the lockdown affected people in various parts of the world.

Talking about the effects of lockdown, he mentioned his observations about India.

“Poverty has increased in India. The migrant workers there are dying of hunger and forced to walk as there is no public transport.”

He also mentioned that even in the US, the situation was not getting any better and the poor people are suffering. Despite the increase in reported cases on a daily basis, the PM is against imposing lockdown in the country. Instead, he mentioned that his Tiger Force will be on the lookout, along with the authorities, for places that are not following the SOPs. They will be provided with cards that would help the people in identifying them.

PM Imran Khan also said:

“I am thankful to the Ulema who supported us. There was no outbreak of coronavirus from mosques during Ramazan and now other Muslim countries are also opening their mosques.”

In my opinion, the lockdown is needed now more than ever. Why? It’s because people will die if we do not impose lockdown and they will still die even if we do impose it. It’s a very critical situation for PM Imran Khan which he needs to tackle very carefully.
