On The Editor’s Radar – Issue #06

Khanjee – Afghani Namkeen Mutton Ribs

This one’s for my fellow goshtkhor buds! If you’ve been taunted enough times for being deprived of authentic Afghani bbq in this part of the city (Clifton, DHA of Karachi), then first go try the Afghani Namkeen Mutton Ribs at E Street’s Khanjee, enjoy it to no end, take a picture or even parcel some for the same competitive friends and prove them wrong! The quality of meat used is premium and the cooking technique is as authentic as it gets, bringing to the table the juiciest, softest, palpable, salted grills of mutton ever!

Simply 7 – Lentil Chips

“Preservatives add strange things to your food, things you shouldn’t have to eat. And if you can’t finish the bag before it goes bad, we are doing something wrong.” That’s how the company elaborates on their ‘no preservatives’ policy! The snacks range of Simply 7 is not genetically modified in any way making it the ideal packaged snack one can freely munch on when looking to eat clean & healthy. My personal favorite is the Lentil Chips in Creamy Dil flavor. Yes, it’s costly and available only in select few stores but its worth it, both in terms of taste & freshness and eating clean!

Core Karachi – Aerial yoga

Antigravity yoga, more endearingly called the aerial yoga is here to stay and grow at Core Karachi for you all to try and get hooked to if not already; like I’m truly, madly, deeply addicted to aerial yoga since last fourteen months and in no mood of living my life without it anymore. It’s THAT life-changing a practice, you won’t dare let go of, once you start! “The whole body energizes during and after an aerial yoga practice.” Excitedly shared Kehkashan the most sought-after, advanced yoga teacher of the nation, who’s been in the industry since last two decades now and has in the past couple of years traveled across the globe and earned renowned diplomas & certifications in aerial yoga teaching before bringing this unique form of workout to Pakistan that’s taken the lively, experimental lot of Karachi by storm!

Threadz & Motifs

I’m a minimalist in the true sense of it. I’d rather wear my smile, my hair, my body, my skin, my aura rather than get lost in heaps of makeup, jewelry, hairdos and decked up layers and layers of clothing. Precisely why Threadz n Motifz never fails to fit the bill for me as it plays on the very element based on which I choose my formal wear – flattering cuts complimenting the female form and intricate embroidery, highlighting the daintiness of a little lady. It hasn’t taken me the sixth minute to select my dress from their incredible collection, ever.

Defyderm Hydrating Serum

This serum was recommended to me by a dermatologist only because I asked for some form of light moisturizer as I have very oily skin and have been ignoring the need to moisturize in all these years, well knowing it’s vital in the long run in order for your skin to age better. The oil-free make of DefyDerm Hydrating Serum proved to be ideal, rejuvenating my complexion and restoring a youthful, supple skin as it helps to plump up the skin, I wear it before I put on a good SPF69 sunblock and it protects my skin from free radicals too!

Makeup Revolution Radiant Light

I am not into makeup. Period. But I’d also not step out fully bare-faced, looking like I don’t care about the world or am coming from a funeral, God forbid. So this product comes in an extremely delicate consistency and reflects light, rendering a radiant clean natural glow to my face, in just one lose handedly done stroke on my cheekbones! Makeup Revolution is known for making affordable dupes, as good as the high-end, luxury brands and this highlighter is a total dupe! Not chunky at all!
