Pakistan Government Announces Recipients of Civil Awards in 2021
Some of the recipients include Humayun Saeed, Bushra Ansari, Ali Zafar, Sakina Samo, Resham, Abida Parveen, Talat Hussain, Sister Ruth Lewis, Faisal Edhi and Jack Ma.
Like every year, Pakistan’s government has announced the recipients of the civil awards on the Independence Day. The awards will be given on Pakistan Day, i.e. March 23, 2021. Some of the recipients include Humayun Saeed, Bushra Ansari, Ali Zafar, Sakina Samo, Resham, Abida Parveen, Talat Hussain, Sister Ruth Lewis, Faisal Edhi and Jack Ma.
The legendary Abida Parveen will be receiving the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, along with poet Ahmed Faraz, artist Sadeqain Naqvi and others. Parveen is considered a ‘Global Sufi ambassador, and usually sings in Urdu, Sindhi, Saraiki, Punjabi, Arabic, Nepali and Persian. She performs Ghazals, Thumri, Khyal, Qawwali, Raag, Sufi Rock, Classical, Semi-classical and Kafis.
Bushra Ansari and Talat Hussain will be receiving the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for their acting. Along with them, the late Sister Ruth Lewis is recognised for her public service. Ansari is known for her comedic timing and her wittiness. She is an actress, comedian, singer and playwright, and was a part of some of PTV’s most famous shows including Angan Terha, Show Time, Show Sha, Rang Tarang, Emergency Ward and the sketch comedy TV series Fifty Fifty.
Actor Humayun Saeed will be one of the recipients of the Pride of Performance Award. Other recipients include veteran actress Sakina Samo, Resham, Ali Zafar, and famous religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil. Saeed is known as the Box Office King in Pakistan, and has a huge fan following given his acting skills. He has won many awards including Lux Style Awards and ARY Film Awards.
Faisal Edhi, son of the late Abdul Sattar Edhi, took over Edhi Foundation and has been doing public service for his country. For his services, he is being given Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
