Pakistan Wins Test Match Against Sri Lanka
Pakistan won the test series against Sri Lanka and, well, we are proud to have new talent in the team which made this happen.
Pakistan took a low-key start in the first innings against Sri Lanka in the second test match. The match was hosted in Karachi, Pakistan from 19th Dec – 22nd December. Pakistan scored 191 runs in the first innings with Asad Shafiq scorinBg the most at 63 off 126. Sri Lanka took the lead made 271 runs leaving Pakistan on a trail of 80 runs. Well, Pakistan, in the second innings played an unexpected match. The first four batsmen scored centuries. S. Masood made 135, A. Ali scored 174, A. Ali scored 118 and B. Azam scored 118* runs. Adding up the other players gave total of 555 runs on the loss of 3 wickets only. The bowling went good on the other hand, and Sri Lanka was all out on 212 runs.
Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah took 5 wickets each in the first and second innings, respectively. Naseem Shah has become the youngest player, age 16, to take 5 wickets in a match. According to Naseem Shah, Waqar Younis had motivated him much. According to Naseem “But, I was motivated after Waqar [Younis] told me that great bowlers are those who can make a strong comeback after a poor day in middle.” He further added that he dedicated the five-wicket haul to his mother. “I had planned this before my debut that I will dedicate my first five-wicket haul to my mother so that she could see me on TV.”
Well, it is good to see this new talent rising quickly in the squad. We need much more players like Naseem Shah, so that we can face any cricketer around the globe. Sri Lanka should just be a start for us.
