PM: Pakistan to Lead the War Against Islamophobia
PM Imran Khan has said that Pakistan will lead in countering the growing Islamophobia in the western world with other Muslim nations.
With the help and support of other Muslim leaders, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan will lead in battling the growing Islamophobia in the western world. He announced this during his speech on Friday at a session of National Rehmatul Lil Alameen Conference in regards with Eid Miladun Nabi.
While addressing the issue, the premier stated that the western world has no respect or understanding of Muslim culture and religion. He stated that is is “our responsibility to apprise them of the sentiments of the Muslim community”.
These remarks come after the French President, Emmanuel Macron’s Islamophobic remarks and the caricatures of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Earlier, in light of these events, Pakistan remonstrated against France and the French Ambassador.
Moreover, in the speech, Imran Khan revealed that he has penned letters to the world leaders in this regard. In addition to this, he will personally reach out to these Muslim leaders to draft a plan to counter the growing Islamophobia in the west. The letter said,
“Today, we are confronting a growing concern and restlessness amongst our Ummah as they see the rising tide of Islamophobia and attacks, through ridicule and mockery on our beloved Prophet (PBUH) in the Western world, especially Europe”

He added, “We are confronting problems today because unfortunately, we deviated from the ideology of founding fathers.”
While reproaching the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron backing the sharing of blasphemous caricatures, Imran Khan added that Islamophobic acts that hurt the feelings of Muslims in the guise of freedom of expression must not be permitted.
