Princess Diana’s Vacation Beach Home on Sale

According to  Christie’s International Real Estate, the home that Princess Diana vacationed in 1993 with her sons, is up for sale. The property is located in Casuarina Beach in the Bahamas that the company recently listed for $12.5 million. It’s a beach house with a pool, five bedrooms, terrace and 180 feet of seashore that is undoubtedly private.

Kate Wharfe, the princess’s royal protection officer, has mentioned the royals stay in this house in one of her books. She wrote a book back in 2017 where she talks about this magnificent Casuarina beach house in the Bahamas where Princess Diana stayed with Prince William and Harry.

She describes the house as:

“a development that afforded a great deal of privacy, being part of a huge luxury complex, privately policed and spotlessly maintained”

The royals were staying there as guests of Kate Menzies, who belongs to the newsagent millionaire Menzies family. They were also accompanied by the Catherine and Harry Soames, the family of British politician Nicholas Soames. During this trip, the royals also flew to Florida from the Bahamas for a trip to Walt Disney World.

This property is the part of Lyford Cay, which is a highly secluded gated community in the Bahamas. The 4,492 square-foot hideaway is situated on 1.05 acres of land and is quite spacious and also afar from neighbors and other disturbances.

This property was long owned by the Menzies family. It was designed in 1969 by mid-century modernist architect Robertson “Happy” Ward.
