Ramiz Raja: Hafeez and Malik Should Retire Gracefully
Saying that it would be beneficial for Pakistani Cricket, Ramiz Raja wants Mohammed Hafeez and Shoaib Malik to retire gracefully. Raja says that it is time that new players come into the fold.
Saying that it would be beneficial for Pakistani Cricket, Ramiz Raja wants Mohammed Hafeez and Shoaib Malik to retire gracefully. Raja says that it is time that new players come into the fold. Ramiz stated that he was not interested in any position in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and tried to share candid opinions.
“I come across both during my assignments that is why I avoid making personal comments. There is no doubt both have served Pakistan cricket well all these years. But now I think it is time they gracefully retired from the Pakistan team,” he said.
Both have insisted they can still represent Pakistan in the World T20 Cup later this year. While Hafeez has announced his retirement after the T20 World Cup, Malik has been tight lipped since his retirement from Test and ODI formats.
In February, Hafeez and Malik were recalled by coach Misbah-ul-Haq for the T20 format. They had been sidelined since their less than stellar performance in the ICC World Cup in England. Shoaib Malik had disappointed fans more than anyone during the competition. Many people have disagreed with Misbah’s decision to bring Hafeez and Malik back into the fold, and it seems Ramiz Raja is one of them.
