When you post something on Facebook, things can really go sidetrack. That is exactly what happened when the Blackpool Police Department in England posted a security footage of a man supposedly stealing from a restaurant.
This is the picture they posted:
The police asked the people if anyone recognized this man as they wanted to speak to him about a restaurant robbery. As soon as the followers saw this image, they noticed how he resembled Dr.Ross Geller from Friends.
After that, hilarious comments from people started pouring in. One of our favorite was “Shoplifting…It’s NOT that common. It DOESN’T happen to every guy, and it IS A BIG DEAL!!!”
Later on, the police confirmed that David Schwinner was not in England during the robbery. They even gave out a punny statement:
Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses. We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We’re so sorry it has to be this way.
