Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed’s Qubool is finally out – the music video is the directorial debut for Qamar and had recently come under fire for a dance sequence that was allegedly shot at Wazir Khan mosque in Lahore.
The music video for Qubool showed a couple falling in love and navigating their conflicts together. It was produced by One Two Records, and the song was written, composed, produced and performed by Bilal Saeed.
However, before the video was even released it received backlash. A short snippet from the video went viral which showed a sequence at Wazir Khan mosque. People were outraged and offended that a music video had been shot at a religious site.
This led to Bilal Saeed apologising and trying to make amends with the audience, “As a realisation on our part, I am removing the entire sequence from the video, and assure you that we won’t make such mistakes in the near future.”
