The world is in a state of chaos and confusion right now. The curve is becoming steeper with each passing day, everyone around the globe is trying to do whatever they can to flatten it. There is no cure for coronavirus yet, however, there are ways with which we can prevent ourselves. Many brands and designers are also stepping forward and contributing towards the cause. One such brand is Sapphire that has donated fabric for face masks.

As we all know by now the importance of precautionary measures, many designers have come forward and stitched protective gear for healthcare professionals. This initiative was started by Asim Jofa and then followed by many such as Deepak Perwani and Maheen Khan, who are both very well-known names of the fashion industry.

Maheen Khan revealed in a tweet that Sapphire had donated fabric for all of the masks produced till now. Maheen has produced 300 masks from the fabric that Sapphire donated and sent them out to Indus Hospital.

Sapphire also announced that:

“Currently, we’re facing a situation that no one could really prepare for. In response to the current outbreak of #covid19 , Sapphire has decided to donate protective kits to Healthcare professionals, working tirelessly to serve this nation”

Sapphire has always been the brand that takes part in cause-based initiatives. They’ve also been trying to reduce plastic waste by introducing canvas bags instead of plastic or paper bags. Canvas bags are reusable and one can use it for other purposes as well, hence, it doesn’t go to waste. Sapphire had also produced bags that had seeds attached to them. That bag was received with every order and anyone could contribute to the environment by planting those seeds.
