Scarlett Johansson In Talks To Lead New ‘Jurassic World’ Movie

‘Marriage Story’ and 'Black Widow' actor is reportedly in talks to be part of the prehistoric epic.

Rumours are swirling in as reports from Hollywood media emerge of Scarlett Johansson in talks to join the cast of the upcoming ‘Jurassic World’ instalment. The news has been buzzing through the industry, igniting speculation about what role the versatile actress might play in the prehistoric epic.

Known for her dynamic performances and box office prowess, Scarlett’s potential involvement in the ‘Jurassic World’  franchise adds an exciting new dimension to the highly anticipated film. With a track record that includes iconic roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and critically acclaimed performances in Oscar nomination films like ‘Marriage Story’ and ‘Jojo Rabbit’, Scarlett’s star power knows no bounds.

While details about Scarlett’s role remain shrouded in mystery, fans are abuzz with excitement, imagining the possibility of seeing the acclaimed actress face off against dinosaurs on the big screen.

Helming this prehistoric adventure is none other than Gareth Edwards, the mastermind behind the camera for the new ‘Jurassic World’ instalment. Taking pen to paper for this dino epic is David Koepp, renowned for his work on the original ‘Jurassic Park’ screenplay.

The latest ‘Jurassic World” instalment continues the legacy of a franchise that has spanned three decades, originating with Steven Spielberg’s groundbreaking ‘Jurassic Park’ in 1993. The success of the original film paved the way for sequels like ‘The Lost World’ and ‘Jurassic Park III’.

In 2015, Universal breathed new life into the series with ‘Jurassic World’, a billion-dollar blockbuster that reignited audience fascination with dinosaurs. Subsequent sequels, including ‘Fallen Kingdom’ and ‘Dominion‘, continued the saga under the direction of filmmaker Colin Trevorrow.

Initially, action aficionado David Leitch was slated to direct the film. However, negotiations hit a snag, leading to Gareth Edwards stepping into the director’s chair. Gareth brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously tackled giant creatures in films like ‘Monsters’ and ‘Godzilla‘.

This new ‘Jurassic World” flick promises to stay true to its roots, with Spielberg on board as producer and David Koepp penning the script. However, audiences can expect a fresh perspective, as the stars of the previous films are not set to return, paving the way for new faces to take centre stage. *sigh, though*

Of course, Scarlett’s potential involvement in ‘Jurassic World‘ is just the latest chapter in her illustrious career. From her breakout role in ‘Lost in Translation’ to her commanding portrayal of ‘Black Widow’ in Marvel films, Scarlett has consistently captivated audiences with her talent and charisma.

Now, as she stands on the brink of joining one of the biggest film franchises in history, the world waits with bated breath to see what she will bring to the table.

On the other hand, she’s lending her voice to the animated feature ‘Transformers One’ and has a highly anticipated Apple project alongside Channing Tatum in the pipeline.

The as-yet-untitled new ‘Jurassic World’  film is set to hit theatres on July 2, 2025, as per Universal Studios. Stay tuned to Runway Pakistan for more updates.
