Sexist Tweet By Fawad Chaudhry About Hina Rabbani Causing A Stir
Fawad Chaudhry made a sexist comment on Twitter about Hina Rabbani while highlighting an old interview. Netizens come to defend Rabbani and bash Chaudhry.
Fawad Chaudhry, a former minister of communications and broadcasting as well as a former minister of science and technology, recently made inappropriate statements against Minister Of foreign affairs Hina Rabbani Khar. Regardless of political affiliation, social media users rose to the challenge and backed her against his apparent bigotry and hatred.
Yesterday, Fawad Chaudhry shared an old interview with Khar from when he was foreign minister in 2011. She not only was Pakistan’s youngest president and the first-ever female to get the role. Chaudhry questioned her knowledge and trustworthiness in his post, tying it to her Berken bags.
Chaudhry wrote in the tweet, “When you appoint a low IQ woman whose only claim to fame is her Berkin bags and expensive eye shades such blunders will become a norm, hope I’ll get rid of this lot sooner than later.” He also added the hashtag #ImportedGovernmentNamzanzoor in the tweet.

Netizens, regardless of party affiliation, reacted angrily to the former minister’s statements, finding them “inappropriate” and “offensive.” Some Twitter users particularly noted that they are PTI voters and did not condone these remarks, labelling them “inappropriate” and “disgraceful.” Some even said he needs to apologize to her and that she worked her way up through hard work and empowerment all while raising children and building up a business.
That is a completely unacceptable statement, I am a PTI voter but she is one of the best Foreign ministers our county has had, have a lot of respect for her, her accessories have nothing to do with her ability to deliver, and her foreign policy needs a lot of repair

Many netizens felt compelled to recall Fawad Chaudhry of the previous minister of foreign affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s “chomping non-responsiveness” and “useless smirking” when he was hauled out over anti-Semitism after making a remark about Israel’s “deep coffers” during a CNN interview.
Despite the fact that i am not a PPP follower, if you pay a little heed to questions being asked to @HinaRKhar and her candid responses are much better than the chewing non responsiveness or blabbering of Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

Some other comments on Chaudhry’s post were also supporting Hina Rabbani and bashing him.
This is condemnable comment. @HinaRKhar is a capable and respectable woman. This is a disguised misogyny and a sexist mindset which will not be accepted. If you really think Women have less IQ, go check your own previous statements. #shameful https://t.co/NAHNSQsQ5d

Jibran Nasir also had thoughts regarding the tweet of Fawad Chaudhry.
You could've simply limited critique to her comments as you perceived them but you had to bring in her gender & trivialize her achievements by a misogynistic reference to her appearance (but IK's looks add to his statesmanship). This only shows growing desperation & pettiness. https://t.co/BZTh19AtBq
