The biopic features Austin Butler portraying the rock n roll legend
The trailer for the Elvis Presley biopic titled “Elvis” has just been released. The film will feature Austin Butler in the lead roll portraying the rock n roll legend.
The film is directed by Oscar nominated director Baz Luhrmann and is set to release on June 24.
The Elvis Presley biopic will depict the life and career of one of rock and roll’s greatest icons. It will highlight the tumultuous relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker to his relationship with Priscilla.
“Elvis” will also feature the career trajectory of the legend from being unknown to being a pop culture icon.
In an interview, Luhrmann discussed the rigorous process of finding the perfect actor to play the role. After countless auditions, Luhrmann decided to cast Butler to play the role in the Elvis Presley biopic.
In addition to Butler, Tom Hanks and Olivia DeJonge will also feature in the Elvis Presley biopic. They will portray the roles of Colonel Tom Parker and Priscilla Presley respectively.
The Elvis Presley biopic will also feature Kodi Smit-McPhee, David Wenham, Dacre Montgomery, Luke Bracey, Richard Roxborough, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Xavier Samuel.
