TikTok Star Sundal Khattak Files Petition Against FIA
Sundal Khattak has filed a petition in session court against FIA's inquiry. She claims that she's innocent and that the agency is harassing her.
TikTok in Pakistan is one of the most used apps. Few users have gained a lot of popularity as the audience over there is massive. Yes, many of them are cringe-worthy but it’s their life. If they like making such videos then good for them because at least they’re doing something that they like, unlike most of us.
The most famous ones among all the TikTok stars are, I believe, Hareem Shah & Sundal Khattak. The reason why I’m saying this is because everyone knows their names. They both have become such big names through social media and made headlines last year in October because of their video in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Recently, Sundal has signed a petition in sessions court against FIA. She claims that FIA has been harassing her and not telling her why she’s being inquired. She mentioned that FIA had summoned her twice previously, on 28th Oct & 5th Nov. They did not mention the reason for inquiring her even after she asked them multiple times.
Sundal Khattak says that she’s an innocent citizen who is not involved in any kind of illegal activities. Hence, she filed a petition against FIA for harassing her. The judge has given a hearing of 4th February and has asked FIA to give an explanation of their inquiry.
There a whole controversy behind these to girls which has been going on. Sundal claimed of Waqar Zaka’s show that she’s been involved in a controversy with Mubashir Luqman. This one took a whole new turn when news about Mubashir being slapped surfaced. Apparently, Fawad Chaudhry had allegedly slapped Mushabir at a wedding because he claimed that Sundal and Fawad are related.
This isn’t the only controversy that Sundal & Hareem have been a part of. Hareem uploaded a video where she can be seen talking to Sheikh Rasheed on a video call. It also shocked many people and went viral, as expected. On Wednesday, the Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication showed regret that these girls were trending on Twitter. Discussion regarding cybercrime legislation took place where members of the committee stressed upon its need.
Senator Faisal Javed said:
“Disturbing privacy of any individual should be discouraged. The FIA and cybercrime department are not implementing the laws.”
However, there are still no rules or guidelines regarding what should be considered as cybercrime and how to deal with such criminals. There need to be proper laws where everything is defined not just for high profile people but also for regular citizens who also go through such defamation and traumatic experiences. Due to lack of proper laws regarding cybercrime, it gets hard to determine what should be considered right and wrong.
