Top 5 Pakistani Drama Serials Which Have Strong Female Lead

We're all for a program with a compelling narrative, realistic individuals, and a moral lesson. Here are five woman-empowering dramas to watch this weekend.

This weekend, are you searching for a series to binge-watch but are stuck for ideas? We’ve got you covered, so don’t worry.

The return of the powerful female lead has been noticeable over the last few years. Why not watch a drama this weekend where the lead character isn’t a helpless victim?

Zindagi Gulzar Hai

Drama

It was very remarkable to witness a powerful lady in a 2012 drama production. For us, Zindagi Gulzar Hai was entirely about Sanam Saeed’s Kashaf Murtaza, who repeatedly won our hearts. Among some, Zindagi Gulzar Hai was really about Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed as a pair.

She not only had a powerful personality, but her conversations also captured our hearts. She mentioned in the show that “they just like a woman for their personal self-seeking reasons,” and it stuck with us. Zindagi Gulzar Hai draws attention to gender inequality in addition to the socioeconomic gap between Kashaf and Zaroon Junaid of Fawad.

Sinf-e-Aahan

Drama Serial

We highly recommend Sinf-e-Aahan, one of the best series of 2021–2022, which had seven female leads. It’s a program for everybody, but it’s particularly suitable for young people who don’t want to pursue the typical career path.

Yumna Zaidi, Sajal Aly, Kubra Khan, Ramsha Khan, Syra Yousuf, Dananeer Mobeen, and Yehali Tashiya Kalidasa are among the cast members of the programme. To be eligible to join the Pakistani Army, the seven actors must pass the test. Every woman has a unique experience to share, as well as unique accomplishments that are motivating in their own right. The connection, bond, and message with each character’s personality and tale were precisely what Pakistani TV was lacking. They also exchanged experiences at the PMA.

Kuch Ankahi

drama serial

One would infer from the teaser and advertisements that Kuch Ankahi depicted a man and a lady who quarrel all the time but eventually fall in love. But, the television programme goes far beyond the clichés associated with Ramadan drama serials. It involves a complete family, not just one guy and one woman.

Sajal Aly plays Aaliya, Bilal Abbas Khan plays Salman, Mira Sethi plays Aaliya’s older sister Samiya, and Qudsia Ali plays Aaliya’s younger sister Tanya in the movie Kuch Ankahi. Property agents Aly and Bilal fight over real estate transactions, but that isn’t the whole story. The drama also addresses the multiple challenges that every woman encounters.

You can only view seven episodes of the serial in a row because it is still running; the eighth episode airs on Saturday.

Ghisi Piti Mohabbat

The 2020 Ramsha drama Ghisi Piti Mohabbat is yet another that has made it onto our female empowering drama list. We were most interested in Samia’s plot, in which she discovers that there are more crucial things in life than marriage, even though the drama may have provided the tension and spice you need to become captivated.

She learns from each of her marriages—the first with Rizwan of Wahaj Ali and the second with Basharat of Ali Abbas—to rely on herself and develop into an independent lady who can take care of herself both emotionally and financially.

Dobara

In the television serial Dobara, Hadiqa Kiani played Mehrunnisa, a character who was made a widow in the initial episode and had to deal with the ridicule of society. Finally being free from her late husband’s rules allows Mehrunnisa to live her life.

All women who have previously felt confined or helpless should watch Dobara. It also demonstrates the stigma a woman encounters when she marries a younger person. Her persona shows that, when done well, female leads in dramas can be quite popular.
