Treatment Plants Built in Karachi for Industrial Waste

Sindh Education and Labor Minister, Saeed Ghani, announced that three treatment plants will be built in Karachi to treat the dumping of industrial waste.

As global warming reaches an alarming state, and the amount of population in Pakistan increases day by day. Sindh Education and Labor Minister, Saeed Ghani, has announced that three treatment plants will be built in Karachi to tackle and treat the dumping of industrial effluents into the sea.

On Wednesday night, at a dinner reception thrown by the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, he stated that Sindh Development Department had already finalized the construction of three treatment plants getting built-in Karachi to treat industrial waste and effluents.

Moreover, the government is prepared to begin work on the Malir Expressway project while also working on constructing a bridge over the Korangi Causeway. Mr. Ghani further stated that industrial laws were to go under revision, and concerned parties would sit down with the stakeholders to finalize the said revisions.

According to him, the government has prepared comprehensive reports and plans to facilitate the industrialists and will be ready to sit down with the representative departments to resolve such issues. As a beginning to the resolution of industrial problems, the government has announced that three treatment plants will be built in Karachi to fix industrial effluents before discharging them into the sea.

Moreover, as the building of the treatment plants in Karachi commences, Mr. Ghani further claims that the government will ensure that the labor is getting the utmost priority. According to him, to achieve any form of industrial advancement labor and its welfare must be maintained. The government plans to issue the laborers computerized security cards similar to the computerized national identity cards that have been approved and signed by the National Database and Registration Authority.

Due to such improvements in labor laws, Pakistan’s placement in the global ranking of labor-friendly laws has improved. Ghani has been taking multiple steps to improve the global conditions in Sindh and Karachi; he hopes that the building of the treatment plants in Karachi for industrial waste will act as the first step towards a greener city.
