Urban Legends You Need To Fear This Fall

The month of October is just around the corner and we all like to celebrate Halloween a month before, just to get us all in the spirit, though some of us do not celebrate it as much as others, we do still rejoice in the scary stories, the sugar rushed candies, the cold air that nips our skin and the shiver that runs down the spine in a chilly atmosphere.

And since everyone loves scary stories, especially the ones that originate from the truth, we have a few urban legends that might just keep you up at night. Heres a list of our favourite Urban Legends.

  • Aren’t You Glad You Didn’t Turn On The Light:

The legend states that a female college student was studying late one night and since her roommate liked to go to bed early, she took the downstairs common room, during the night at around 2 am, she figured that she had left one of her key books upstairs in the room, sighing she went to retrieve it, when she entered the room, she felt chill run down her spine, something seemed of, she could hear the loud breathing of her roommate.

For some reason her body refused to go near the switch, so she searched for her book and went out the door a little too early, trying to shake the feeling off, she busied herself in work and discovers her roommate has been murdered. On the wall above her bed, written in her roommate’s blood, were the words: “Aren’t you glad you didn’t turn on the light?”

  • Slender Man:

This one is by far the creepiest one, and I find it extremely uncomfortable, now knowing that it has brought itself into the real world and caused havoc when two 12-year-old girls were charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide in a crime they said was intended to appease the mythological figure. The Slender man appears tall, lean, and is clad in a black suit, he doesn’t talk or appear in front of you suddenly, he stalks his victims first, then subtly appears near them, from far away locations, enough to psych you out. He looks almost, but not quite human — just off enough to put you on edge. It is said that he doesn’t kill his victims just makes them disappear.

  • The Black Eyed Children:

According to legend these creatures, look like children but aren’t. According to the legends, you will find these kids near empty, abandoned areas, where there isn’t much human life. They appear in outdated clothes, mostly black robes, they’re skin is pale, and their eyes, the eyes are black, two endless pits of black, they have no iris or pupils. According to another legend they require permission to enter a car, a house or any other are, what happens after they enter is what you’ll have to read to find out.

  • Abandoned By Disney:

Legend states that in North Caroline, Disney once tried at a failed park and resort, the theme was Mowgli, from The Jungle Book. It was shut down, suddenly and unexpectedly, and seemingly scrubbed from the record, this gives us more curiosity over why was it shut down, and what happened that the company took such a drastic measure.
