ZABMUN to Continue the Debating Legacy
ZABMUN has entered its eleventh tenure and will be taking place from 30th January till 2nd February 2020. Here is there something you should about the event.
Model United Nations have been taking place since quite long. The first MUN took place in Oxford University back in 1921, which was a model for League of Nations. It moved on to other countries slowly and gradually. And lo behold, it came in Pakistan almost ten years ago. MUN basically develops a person’s debating skills in regards to diplomacy and International Relations where they represent countries in the committees which are, fundamentally, models for United Nations. ZABMUN is a MUN hosted by SZABIST University every year. ZABMUN has entered its eleventh tenure and here is something you all should know about it.
This year, ZABMUN will be taking place at Movenpick Hotel, Karachi. The decided dates are 30th January – 2nd February 2020. To keep the standards of debating maintained, ZABMUN has decided 11 different committees to be included this year.
Moreover, as much as ZABMUN is renowned for it’s debating quality, it is also known for its social events. Hence, there are two social events taking place in ZABMUN XI. ‘The Great Gatsby’ is a dance party themed on a movie with the same name. This social event will be taking place on the 1st of February 2020. Following it, the other day, will be another social event, which is a legacy that goes on with ZABMUN every year. Qawalli is something people usually know ZABMUN for. So this year, ZABMUN took the famous Abu Muhammad and Fareed Ayaaz on board to perform in ZABMUN’s Qawalli, named ‘Dam Mast Qalandar’.
