Basketball Legend Kobe Bryant Has Passed Away
On Sunday, the sporting world lost one of the all time greats, Kobe Bryant. The former basketball legend had died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas.
America’s most beloved basketball star Kobe Bryant has sadly passed away last night in a helicopter crash. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined. The tragic accident took place yesterday in the city of Calabasas, California.
In a briefing with the press, the Los Angeles Police Department claimed that there were no survivors from the crash. All nine passengers had sadly passed away from the accident, including Bryant and his daughter Gianna.

The tragic demise of a basketball legend has sparked major shock waves across the globe. The sporting world has reacted strongly to the death of Bryant with sadness and shock. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver described him as “an extraordinary player”. The commissioner has gone on to say that his accomplishments has “inspired many to pick up the game and compete with the best of their ability”.

Another prominent superstar Shaquile O’Neal has expressed shock and heartbreak about losing who he had considered a ‘brother’. Another legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar has also expressed his sadness and astonishment at the loss of one of the game’s legend. Other more prominent players of the game such as Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson have also expressed their condolences and sorrow about losing a fellow legend.
Other more prominent sport personalities have also expressed their anguish at the loss of LA Lakers top scorer. Footballers such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have also expressed their sadness at the loss of basketball’s most finest. Boxing legend Mike Tyson has also expressed his condolences to Bryant’s family.

Who was Kobe Bryant ?
Born in 1978, Bryant has become one of basketball’s most prominent and remarkable player. He spent the entirety of his career playing for one team, the LA Galaxy. His accomplishments included being named NBA’s most valuable player in 2008, a two time NBA Finals MVP, a four time All Star MVP award winner and a five time NBA champion.
Outside the sport, he has made several contributions to charity. He is also a recipient of an Oscar Award in 2018 for his animated short film Dear Basketball. However, his life was not free of controversy. In 2003, he was accused of sexual assault by a nineteen year old woman. Bryant denied the allegations and the case was dropped due to the accuser failing to show up in court to testify.
