Free Healthcare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Coming Soon

PTI government in association with the Chief Minister of KP has announced the provision of free healthcare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa!

From January 31st, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will become the first province in Pakistan to provide free healthcare facilities to all its citizens, the entire population will be allowed to receive free healthcare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s private and public hospitals.

More than 38 million people will benefit from the free healthcare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, anyone holding a CNIC that belongs to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be applicable for free treatment across the country.

Collectively, around 6.59 million families will receive up to Rs. 1 million per year for treatments. This, however, does not cover any outdoor treatments, or transplants in their initial phase. The provision to provide free healthcare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will cost around Rs. 18 million.

The KP Chief Minister has assured the public that the costs of the treatment of transplants will soon be covered within the free healthcare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa package and a contract with the Al-Shifa hospital in Islamabad shall soon be signed.

Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan, described the free healthcare act as his life’s dream, he said that this flagship project of the PTI government will not only provide the citizen’s with free healthcare but also improve the living standards of the province.

The PTI government is striving hard to ensure maximum possible facilities to the people of the province,” says the Chief Minister. Free healthcare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been termed as the Sehat Insaf Card and according to Mr. Mahmood, the PTI Government has extended this facility to up to 100% of the population.

Prime Minister Imran Khan already inaugurated the first phase of the healthcare in Malakand Division on November 6, 2020. In the first phase, each family in five districts of Zone-1, Chitral, Malakand, Swat, Upper Dir, and Lower Dir were provided free healthcare facilities up to Rs.1 million per annum. However, in the second phase, Zone-2, including Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Torgar, and Abbottabad, will be provided free of the cost healthcare facility in the current month of November.

Similarly, in December, the third phase would be launched in Zone-3 and 4, including the districts of Haripur, Buner, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, and Peshawar. It will be followed by southern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan by January 31, 2021, when the entire population of the province will receive free healthcare services.
