Tehmina Durrani Sharif the woman who made a name for herself through her own success and achievements, meet Themina Durrani if you haven’t yet, a woman of a higher scale, an author, an activist and a feminist by nature. She is famous for her book ‘My Feudal Lord’ in which she talks about her abusive relationship with her first husband and how she got out of it, in her book she also discusses the inaccurate assumption of Islam that is upheld in many parts of Pakistan mostly rural where concept of the lord or sahib exists, she also works as an activist, she fights for the rights of women and children, especially the ones who come from domestic abuse, she has contributed in many aspects.
Tehmina was born in an educated and influential family, she was married at the early age of seventeen which ended in divorce due to the domestic abuse she had received from her first husband, she is now married to Shahbaz Sharif. She has supported the social rehabilitation of women since 2005 and has worked for the betterment of the mental pain that women go through before and after the domestic abuse, this includes the physical abuse as well.
