A 19-Year-Old Transgender Was Murdered and Thrown in the River
A teenage transgender was murdered and police have arrested the suspect.
There has been reports of a murder of a 19-year-old transgender, Maya, who was allegedly killed by her own father. Maya was hiding at police station due to fear of being killed by her own family, later on the victim’s father himself came and assured both the police and Maya that nothing will happen to her. There were some gunshots heard and a body was found from the river.
This brutal act has left his father in the custody of the police, who have arrested him. This incident took place in Nowshera and the body was found from Kabul River. Police have shifted the body to hospital for postmortem.
This is sad as many transgender to this day have to struggle a lot to even live a normal life. The society is evolving and accepting transgenders as a part of it, but it will still take many more years before such vile and heinous murders in the name of ‘honour’ are stopped.
