Arshad Nadeem, Pakistans Last Hope in The Olympics
Arshad Nadeem, has qualified for the finals in the olympics. He is the last hope for Pakistan, hopefully he secures a gold medal.
The 24 year old Arshad Nadeem, Shocks Pakistan with an impressive performance at the Tokyo Olympics. Many didn’t expect Arshad to make it this far in the competition.
Arshad Qualified third-best throw of the day with a javelin throw of 85.16 meters. Following German Johannes Vetter ‘s 85.64 meters and India’s Neeraj Chopra 86.65 meters. People didn’t expect Arshad to get a chance at competing for the gold medal, and he proved everyone wrong.
Background
The story of the young Pakistani athlete is very interesting as he grew up in Mian Channu, a small town in Khanewal District, Punjab. Arshad participated in all the sports his school had to offer – football, cricket, badminton and other athletics, however he always had a special place in his heart for cricket. He took part in many tournaments and participated in numerous events. He was sure that he would go far in the sport. Everything changed when he noticed Rasheed Ahmad Saqi in an athletics competition (javelin throw). He fell in love with Javelin throwing, it was almost as If he was naturally talented in the sport. He won many medals and trophies along the way.
Arshad Nadeems Achievements
In the 2018 Asian athletic meet, Arshad Nadeem won a bronze medal (3rd place) which surprised many people. Arshad also won a Gold medal in the 2019 South Asian athletics meet. This was proof that Arshad was capable of participating in international competitions and that he was extremely talented.
Arshad Nadeem is one of the few athletes from Pakistan who has reached this far on an international level. He is the last hope for Pakistan in the Olympics and we hope that he is able to secure a gold medal for Pakistan.
