First Teaser of New Pakistani Crime Thriller Movie “Carma” Released

The first trailer of Carma, the new thriller and action-packed movie by Kashan Admani, is here. And we can't wait for this Tarantino-inspired car movie.

The first teaser of the upcoming crime-thriller car movie “Carma” featuring stars like Adnan Siddiqui, Navin Waqar, Omar Waqar, and Zhalay Sarhadi was released on Youtube and we are already loving it.

In the past few years, Pakistan’s big screen has been focusing on comedy or romantic movies with few bits of action scenes. However, fans of the Pakistani big screen are ready for some thriller and crime-packed movies that are realistic and discuss the problems we face in Pakistan, in a light-hearted way.

Carma, which is produced and directed by Kashan Admani, gives us a glimpse of the evolution Pakistani cinema is going through.

Co-producer and writer, Fawad Hai, told the audience that the movie is inspired by Quentin Tarantino movies and that Admani and he both are Tarantino fans. Farhan Golden, the Cinematographer, gets the credit of giving a Hollywood feel to “Carma”.

Carma is set in modern-day Karachi and follows a story of a young man who is abducted by some gangsters and taken for a ride. Although the plan for kidnapping is simple, it takes several twists and turns which makes the movie captivating for crime thriller fans. The teasers promise a car chasing scene and dive into important topics like pedophilia, adultery, and revenge. Admani put emphasis on the movie’s special focus on car snatchings and kidnappings that are common in Karachi.

Adnan Siddiqui posted on social media assuring that the movie will keep the audience on the edge with several rollercoasters throughout the movie.

The trailer shows snippets of the cast in difficult situations inside the car and even a car chase scene in the streets of Karachi. Most of the movie is shot in a car thus the name “Carma”. The name is a play on “Car” and “Karma”.

Although “Carma” has received mostly positive responses from the audience but some were not a fan of the violence. There were comments like “Too much violence”, “That’s horrifying. Such material is horrible for our society that’s already turned into a horrible form” and “Good cinematography… but a lot of violence and torture”. However, these comments just make up 10% of the comments on “Carma” so we and the netizens are excited about this upcoming release.

The movie is set to be released by coming December or January 2022.
