China & India Strife at Ladakh Border
After 1975, this is the first time that India and China have entered in a conflict, resulting in loss of 20 Indian Soldiers.
The geopolitical location of India makes it lie between China, Pakistan, and Nepal. The relations and ties between Pakistan and China are more than better. The main reason for healthy relations is CPEC, that gives China access to warm waters route, with less investment than before. This has made Pakistan really essential for China. On the other hand, Nepal also has positive relations with Pakistan, however, it has easy relations with both, India and China. However, now, there are tensions at the Ladakh border, that stand between India and China.
Both the armies are blaming one another on entering the other country. What seemed from a video on Social Media was, that the Indian Army entered into China, willingly or unwillingly. The Indan Army was seen talking to a Chinese Soldier and tried explaining to him that they entered by mistake. According to the Chinese Foreign Minister, “Indian crossed the border twice provoking and attacking Chinese personnel. This resulted in serious physical confrontation between border forces on the two sides”. As for now, around 20 Indian Soldiers have died in the skirmishes.
India and the United States are in really good relations at the moment. On the other hand, China and the United States are old rivals, be it economically or politically. One can expect the US to support India if China and India indulge in a war. Moreover, it is also possible that China involves Pakistan too, which can harm the Pakistans economy heavily. However, if India is under control, from the Chinese Side, there are possibilities, as to maintain the relations between Pak and China, there might be talks on the Kashmir Issue too.
It is yet to see what happens next.
