Duke And Duchess of Cambridge Arriving in Pakistan

This will be the royal couple's first official visit to Pakistan.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are arriving to Islamabad, Pakistan this evening. This is going to be their first official visit.

Prince Charles had previously visited Pakistan with his wife Camilla back in 2006, and allegedly faced security issues. However this time details of the 5 day visit are being kept under wraps and security extremely tight in the capital city.

The royals are expected to visit Islamabad, Lahore and the northern areas of Pakistan. They will be covering the cultural aspects, its diverse communities and the beautiful landscapes.

More-so this trip is said to mainly “focus largely on showcasing Pakistan as it is today, a dynamic, aspirational, and forward-looking nation,” as stated by British High Commissioner Thomas Drew.

According to Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, this trip is likely to strengthen ties between Pakistan and Britain.

Princess Diana had also previously visited Pakistan and won the hearts of the entire country. She also inaugurated the Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and even to this day she is held in high regard.

Hopefully the Duke and Duchess have a successful and eventful trip, and we look forward to welcoming them to Pakistan!
