Flying Vehicle to Launch in Dubai in 2023
This flying vehicle service, which can turn into a car and plane, will make traveling inside cities easier as well as travel to and fro cities in a country.
Have you seen old time-travel movies which show flying vehicles in the future? Well, the future that our ancestors predicted is here, finally.
LuftCar, a Florida-based company, is in the process of introducing and developing a flying vehicle for huge cities which have heavy traffic. This hydrogen powdered vehicle could be easily linked and unlinked to the flying module and six rotors, similar to helicopters, which would help it fly. The flying vehicle is worth $350,000 for corporate use as well as regular traffic use by the wealthy.
The car is supposed to land and take off exactly like helicopters do, vertically. The speed of the flying vehicle is 220 miles per hour at 4000 altitudes and the electric verticle takeoff and landing can be done at 300 miles.
“People will actually buy a small car and plane combined; hence they don‘t need to live in a congested city and travel from far-flung places to cities with ease. Businesses can also use this as a shared vehicle to go from city to city and without a need to rent a vehicle. The vehicle will be fully autonomous and [will] have a capacity for five passengers. But there will also be autonomous override options in case of an emergency landing,” said the CEO of LuftCar, Santh Sathya.
The representative of Mena at LuftCar, Saleem Ahmed, said: “If someone wants to go from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, he can call a pod from an app to a station, attach the car and fly to Abu Dhabi. It is like hailing an Uber or Careem ride. It has vertical take-off and landing and doesn’t need a runway. This air-and-road mobility vehicle will also be available for high-net-worth individuals. In addition, it has many uses such as air ambulance, emergency and disaster relief, military applications and cargo.”
An Israeli organization called AIR has also announced to start up a similar eVTOL flying vehicle service in the United States in 2024.
