Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince | Book Review

One summer night, Professor Dumbledore arrives at Privet Drive to fetch Harry Potter while his hand is blackened with some form of dark magic. The elder wizard gives no explanation whatsoever and they apparate to the Headmaster’s friend’s house.

The most blood-curling and petrifying book in the Harry Potter series. One summer night, Professor Dumbledore arrives at Privet Drive to fetch Harry, his hand is blackened with some form of dark magic. The elder wizard gives no explanation whatsoever and they apparate to the Headmaster’s friend’s house.

Harry Potter

“There it was, hanging in the sky above the school: the blazing green skull with a serpent tongue, the mark Death Eaters left behind whenever they had entered a building…wherever they had murdered…”

Harry is dropped off at The Burrow with the Weasleys where the trio prepares for their most uncanny year yet. Albus Dumbledore prepares Harry to face his destiny and the boy who the Dark Lord spared years ago must face him again in an ultimate battle.

Meanwhile, Harry Potter is convinced that Draco Malfoy bears the Dark Mark. He spies on the supposed Death Eater throughout the year and in the process learns new spells thanks to a beat down copy of his potions book, found in his classroom cupboard. Inside which states that it belonged to the half-blood prince.

The Boy Who Lived explores Lord Voldemort’s past, learning his darkest secret: his immortality. “Because to confide a part of your soul to something that can think and move for itself is obviously a very risky business.”

Other than the dark magic that has made its way into Hogwarts, the only conformity at the school is Ron and Hermione’s constant banter over Ron’s emotional range while something sparks between Harry and Ginny Weasley.

“But you’ve been too busy saving the Wizarding world. Well, I can’t say I’m surprised. I knew this would happen in the end. I knew you wouldn’t be happy unless you were hunting Voldemort.”
